How close is the human race to actually mutating into another more advanced species?

The human race as a whole has been basically the same physically/mentally for a few thousand years now. If evolution is true, aren't we continually evolving? When will the next big evolution take place. Like will we eventually start seeing babies with major genetic differences soon? like extra chromosomes or extra appendages that actually function perfectly without being malformed or stunted? This new race will also be much more intelligent then us, so will we become the new Neanderthals? Will this advanced race use the term "Human" as a form of derision for their stupid friends?
