Do girls in the army reserve go to war?

my girlfriend is thinking about joining tha army reserve and she said the recruiter told her she would not go to war because she is a girl? is this true? i thought tha army didnt discriminate against sex? so long storyy short she thinks she wont go to war and i do so wats the deal?
