How to dull a sword blade?

i know this question sounds crazy, but i have a sword that just sits there, its not like i'm going to need to use a sword for anything in the near future. everyone that see's it instantly wants to play with it, but i have to say no because it's razor sharp. is there away to dull the blade to a point where it can no longer cut anything?? then i can swing it around and just knock someone out instead of cutting their head in half like a block of cheese, and people can actually touch it and i wont have to worry about anyone losing ears, fingers, or other appendages.
